Composition:
Povidone Iodine IP /USP 7.5 % w/v
(i.e. 0.75% w/v available Iodine)
Mode of Application:
Apply to skin in conditions like
- Pre and post operative surgical skin antisepsis.
- Treatment of bacterial, fungal infection of nasal and vaginal mucosa.
- As a prophylactic in casualty procedures against infection of burns, abrasions, lacerations and wounds.
- As a first-aid antiseptic to help prevent infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns.
Directions for Use:
As directed by physician and surgeon
- Use undiluted for pre-operative preparation of skin and vaginal douche and mucous membrane.
- Allow to dry prior to application of dressing, drape or cast.
- Avoid application to large areas of broken skin
- Contraindicated in cases of known iodine sensitivity.
Precautions:
Keep out of reach of children.
Storage:
Store below 30° C. Protect from light. Keep the container tightly closed.
Antimicrobial efficacy:
It has a rapid and prolonged broad spectrum of activity against a wide range of bacteria, fungi, viruses and some bacterial spores.

Further Information:
- Povidone Iodine Antiseptic solution is virtually non- staining and non- irritating to skin.
- It has a rapid and prolonged germicidal action against a wide spectrum of pathogenic organism, both gram positive and gram negative bacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses.
- Its microbicidal activity is retained even in the presence of blood, pus and serum.
- It has got the colour indicator i.e. as long as golden brown colour remains it indicates the disinfected area.
